Sensory Winery & Art Gallery hosted a reception for the Photographic Arts Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania (PASNWPA) artists Friday. The artists are currently exhibiting their works at our gallery. A full house came to view the art, meet the artists, enjoy a couple drinks and appetizers. It was a wonderful evening, complete with a warm rain and full rainbow. Although there was no pot of gold found, fortunately for the artists customers purchased several pieces of art.
Besides the Lust (cherry wheat), I personally liked the eagle on metal by Patty Menz – it seems that the metal without a frame emphasizes the national bird’s magnificence. I also love Laura Gooley’s Simplicity (shown below) because to me, nothing is more beautiful than a barn, a window, blooming flowers and a stately pine tree in the reflection. My four-year old daughter loved that one too, she got a really good shot of it hung, with the sun shining brightly through the gallery window, via my i.phone (it’s not posted, she’s not ready for the big time, yet).
The party was also a fundraiser for PASNWPA. Sensory partnered with the Society allowing artists to “take over” the bar and serve Sensory small-lot wines and 7 Sins craft brews. Half of the beer and wine profits went to PASNWPA.
The Society is an exclusive group of accomplished contemporary photographers from Northwestern Pennsylvania. Artists must complete an application and have works evaluated from fellow photographers to be included in the group. The group sets out to showcase artists in and effort to help market their work.
The exhibit runs through Sunday, October 2. While gazing at the fine art photography, grab a glass of wine or craft beer – all three are available for purchase to take home as well. Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday 11 am to 5 pm.
Thank you to the PASNWPA for choosing our gallery to showcase your amazing art! Here is a small sample of the phenomenal works.
