Live Music Resonates at Sensory Winery & Art Gallery

By January 26, 2017Music

Now is the time to check out Sensory Winery & Art Gallery – live music is offered on a regular basis. What a great idea.

Doug Phillips and Elly Vahey perform at Sensory Winery & Art Gallery.

To kick off the live music series Doug Phillips and Elly Fahey performed a fantastic show, Friday, January 13, 2017. These two musicians gig a ton around Erie in respective bands but once in a while come together to play throwback 80s and 90s acoustics. That night the duo blended many music-to-my-ears harmonies.

Gallery manager, Fergie scored big when she booked Gem City Revival for the live music concert series. Wow. Talk about amazing musicians – the picking and vocals were stellar. The top-notch trio showed off their stuff last Saturday night, January 21, 2017. Gem City Revival considers their genre of music Americana – I felt a grass-roots vibe with lots of soul, while listening to the bluegrass, folk, alt-country and gospel compositions. Heavenly.

Two additional acts performed as part of the January live music winter concert series. Familiar to Sensory Winery, The Honest Mistakes played January 14, 2017 while Michael Gerholdt played January 20, 2017. Check out Gerholdt’s site and listen to, Empty Places. Poignant in a thought-provoking way, his words are eloquently stated and fluid with the notes, a showcase of his talent.

Live Music for the Upcoming Weekend

The shows coming up this weekend include two more fan favorites – rising star, Brooke Surgener plays tomorrow, Friday, January 27. Brooke is a folk/pop singer songwriter who performs primarily originals. Brooke’s original, Winter’s Window won the 2014 Rock Erie Music Awards (REMA) Song of the Year. Sweet.

Beyond the Live Music

Oh, and did we mention the co-host 7 Sins Brewery?  Their carefully crafted beer is on tap – and it is phenomenal! The brewery has newly released more craft beers, including seasonal Damn Winter Ale – promised to warm you up while you imbibe. 7 Sins reminds us that It’s ok to be a little sinful (well, that is as long as you are indulging in 7 Sins craft beer or Sensory’s cult wines).

The live music events include complimentary pizza and pub pretzels. (And if you are on the sustainability band-wagon, the chef uses spent grain from the beer-making process to create the crust and pretzels – no wonder it tastes so fresh and delicious!) The beer specials rotate and so does the art on the walls. Sensory now has more seating and board games so you can sit back and sip if you wish.

Sensory Winery & Art Gallery, creates that total sensory experience, again – huzzah!
